<Selected User Comment>
– This movie can offer a completely different perspective depending on your stage in life—whether as a child, after leaving home, or as a parent.
– I feel like witnessing Satsuki and Mei grow and their journey firsthand. And Totoro is just really cute!
– Ever since I was a child, I’ve dreamed of riding the fluffy Cat-bus or lying on Totoro’s belly…!

4th Place “Princess Mononoke”

The 4th place came “Princess Mononoke”, which received ratings from 1,773 people and scored 84.0 points. What comments from users?

<Selected User Comments>
– It really makes me think about the coexistence of humans and nature.
– I feel this one has the most powerful and deep storyline (though “Nausicaä” is a close contender) among all Ghibli films.
– Unlike previous Ghibli films, this one delves into slightly more graphic elements, like depictions of blood. It portrays nature not just as something beautiful, but in its raw and untamed form.

3rd Place “Kiki’s Delivery Service”

The 3rd place is “Kiki’s Delivery Service”, which scored 84.4 points and was rated by 1,538 people. What kind of comments did it receive from users?

<Selected User Comments>
– This is a story that I want to cheer for Kiki who is a main character every step of the way.
– Kiki was my admired girl as a child. She’s a witch, so cute, kind, and sometimes even cool.
– Both Kiki and Jiji are lovely, and the nice town scenery is simply perfect.

2nd Place “Castle in the Sky”

In 2nd place is “Castle in the Sky”, which was rated by 1,671 people and scored 85.8 points. What’s comments…?

<Selected User Comments>
– I think this film is both the foundation and the pinnacle of Ghibli!
– A story of kids growing through adventure, an ancient lost civilization, robots, and cool villains—this movie is an excellent movie which is packed with everything that excites me.
– Joe Hisaishi’s music is a necessary part of Ghibli films, but “Castle in the Sky” takes it to another level. The moment Laputa first appeared in the sky gave me chills.

1st Place “Spirited Away”

The top place is “Spirited Away”, which earned an impressive 87.0 points and was rated by 2,746 people. What’s the reason this film is so beloved?

<Selected User Comments>
– This story where we can watch Chihiro, who is the main character, grow from a timid, crybaby girl into a strong and independent character is really inspiring.
– I’ve seen it more than 10 times, and it still never gets boring—it has both humor and deep emotions.
– When seeing No-Face happily working at Zeniba’s bathhouse at the end just makes me think, I’m so glad for No-Face “.

Was your favorite movie ranked? By the way, my best is “My Neighbor Totoro” which ranked 5th place. I’ve loved it since I was a child, and I was always moved by sisters who patiently waited for their mother in the hospital.

I especially relate to Mei who is the younger sister because I’m a younger sister. The ability to empathize with the story is one of the most attractive aspects of Studio Ghibli movies. Why not look for a character who is similar to you while watching them?
